A couple of weeks ago we announced the release of our new website, and have been working hard to polish and expand the resources there. As a part of the overall plan for our web-presence, we are making another adjustment today, and preparing for the next step in a couple of weeks.
Today...we formally activate our new Blog site, now to be the home of our "rants", "tirades", and hopefully even a helpful thought or two. Follow the navigation link from our website, or just use the URL
http://www.imagilearning.com/blog to get there.
Since we are moving our voice to that new site, we intend to open our Ning site up to the members of our community...to share their thoughts and ideas here. We will be moderating the posts, but do invite all of our members to begin offering your posts as you might desire.
I thought it would be helpful to understand what guidelines we will be using to moderate the posts, and what might keep a post from being approved. First, we follow the same principle here that we do on our community islands in Second Life...please don't post anything that negatively impacts a neighbor. We can certainly disagree on topics...that keeps it interesting...but when we disagree it needs to be done in an atmosphere of respect. Also, our community members come from many areas, many cultures and many philosophies. So, we expect posts to honor those differences...remain "PG" in language and content, and otherwise feed the community rather than harm it.
Finally, a personal choice of my own. I do not intend to approve posts that are simply blatant advertising. Now if you have come across a product or book or anything else that you have found to be really good, please tell us all about it. But this is not a place for product marketers to disguise themselves as end-users, only to promote their own products to our community. If you do want to advertise here...feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to work out some arrangement with you. I'm always open to helping a fellow business person, but expect to be approached honestly to do so. Ok, enough of the heavy talk. We'll check for new posts daily and approve them as we find them.
